Claviere is an Italian ski resort which was was already frequented by skiers as far back as the 1920s. It is located on the border between Italy and France on the Montgenèvre mountain pass. It is part of the vast Franco-Italian Milky Way (Via Lattea) ski area, which connects the ski resorts of Sestriere, Sauze d'Oulx, Cesana Sansicario, Pragelato, Claviere and Montgenèvre in France. The resort is located 1760 metrss above sea level in a beautiful valley at the foot of Mount Chaberton. Its ski slopes are varied and are surrounded by a beautiful landscape of fir and larch forests. The slopes are suitable for all types of skiers, young and old, beginner and expert. The resort also provides a number of cross-country skiing trails.
