The ski resort of Arêches-Beaufort is located in the heart of the Beaufortain, about 20 kilometres from Albertville. The resort, spread over two linked sites (Arêches 1080 m) and Le Planay (at 1200 m), is a perfect example of tourism blending with traditional mountain life. The ski slopes, ranging from 1080 to 2300 metres in altitude, snake through forests and pastures and are a joy for all types of skier. The two traditional Beaufortain villages (Arêches and Beaufort), with their old wooden chalets, their baroque churches and their unique landscapes, are a treat for lovers of heritage and traditions.
